November 2008 Update:
Hello everyone. Debbie and I are now back in the States. We have had Mexican food, Blue Bell and had the grandgirls for a day, so now all is right with the world.
October was a month of giving out special resources and blessing to several churches. Several of you had donated generators which were on the last container. Over the last few weeks we were able to place 3 generators in churches that were in need of such. These churches were losing electricity often, in the middle of their Sunday services or not even having power at all. One church was running an electric wire and borrowing from a nearby neighbor. Now church can not only go on, but go on with "power". The pastors of these churches were jumping for joy and it will be an ongoing blessing with tremendous effect upon the church.
We also brought into the CMM Center, 21 leaders from around Kenya. We taught them how to use a computer, the Bible software programs, Microsoft Word (cut, paste and build a sermon), then sent them home with the computer they had learned on. Their faces looked like someone had put a piano keyboard between their lips. If you gave a computer, it could very well be in a pastor's home today equipping him with the Word of God.
We will be back in the States until the first of February. The next container will go out around the middle of January. If you click on the picture of the container on the home page you will find a list of things we are believing to ship over. Will you help us fill the container? We are also in need of a truck or SUV to pick up resources from around the Metroplex. As soon as Jerry, Gerishon and Pastor Chola arrive, they will be assisting in collecting, boxing up and getting the container ready. We need extra transport while they are here to help with all that needs to be collected. If you know of a vehicle, we would consider "renting" it for a couple of months or paying the insurance, etc. Someone may want to donate one to Mission Barnabas as well. Just let us know if you know of a possibility.
Jerry, Pastor Chola and Pastor Gerishon will arrive in Texas next week. We are hoping to get them into several places to share and speak. If you would like for any of them to minister or share or can use them while they are here, please let us know. Sunday, November 16, all 3 of the guys will be sharing at Fusion Church in Bedford, Texas. Then they will light up the Colleyville Center with praise, worship, testimony, etc. at the banquet the following Tuesday. The last week they are in the States will find them ministering in Mississippi and Louisiana.
We look forward to seeing many of you in a couple of weeks at the missions banquet (Nov. 18th, Colleyville Center, Colleyville, Texas). This banquet will be very "African", from the food to the "Masaai Market" to Swahili songs, decorations and the like. It will be a special evening and we hope you can make it.
